Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will likewise be delayed from its initial release date of 2021 to early 2022. Lucasfilm has already revealed a remake of Knights of the Old Republic in conjunction with Aspyr, as well as Star Wars: Hunters, a multi-player action game developed in association with Zynga. It's unclear whether this is a brand-new announcement or a follow-up to a previously announced Star Wars initiative.
On the other hand, on December 14, Disney chose to lead with an image of a gamepad, implying that a new Star Wars game could be on the way. Each week, a different character and piece of memorabilia from the franchise is featured on the poster. Through an interactive poster on its website, Disney has offered fans a preview of what they may expect from prospective announcements during the campaign. Aspyr Media has also been engaged on a current-gen recreation of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was announced as a PlayStation 5 exclusive earlier this year. This steady stream of Star War games isn't going to stop anytime soon, as EA and developer Respawn Entertainment have already stated that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is in the works, following Cal Kestis' journey prior to the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. Despite a rocky start with Electronic Arts’s Star Wars Battlefront reboot and its sequel, Disney's Star Wars game library has expanded in size and reputation with the economic success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and strong critical reception of Star Wars Squadrons. As it launches out a fresh wave of official products ahead of the holiday season, Disney could be hinting at a new Star Wars video game or a game-related product. Disney has kept one week in December aside for a new video game announcement. "Bring Home the Bounty," global consumer products, gaming, and publishing campaign that will unveil new Star Wars toys, collectibles, books, clothes, and more each week through the end of the year. The company recently unveiled a new merchandising campaign dubbed "Bring Home The Bounty" that will run through the end of 2021.
